TL;DR: As of June 17, you’ll save $5 when you spend $50 or more on DoorDash e-gift cards from Amazon when you enter the coupon code DASH during checkout.

Yes, many cities are beginning to ease their social distancing restrictions so that restaurants can open up for limited outdoor seating. And yes, I truly cannot think of anything better than devouring a plate of tacos and a big-ass margarita on a sunny patio after being cooped up inside all spring. (The thought of it makes me tear up a bit, if we’re being totally honest here.)

But with the still-looming possibility of a second wave of coronavirus infections, no one would blame you for wanting to delay your glorious return to restaurant dining a liiittle while longer, just to be on the extra-safe side.

In the meantime, ordering takeout or delivery remains one of the best ways to support your local restaurant scene in these weird times. Consider ordering directly from an eatery’s website if you can — that way, they don’t have to cough up third-party services’ hefty commission fees (typically 15 to 30%). But if that’s not an option, DoorDash is the better way to go than some other apps — not only has the company introduced a series of COVID-19 relief efforts to aid local restaurants, but it also just so happens that you can save $5 on a DoorDash e-gift card purchase of $50 or more from Amazon just by entering the code DASH during checkout. That’s a win-win.

After rolling out several support measures that either reduced or eliminated commission fees for its local partners this past spring, DoorDash made headlines in late May when it announced its new “Main Street Strong” initiatives to “help restaurants get back on their feet and accelerate into this new future,” per a company blog post. As part of the program, DoorDash now allows restaurants to create their own commission-free online stores through its DoorDash Storefront platform and offers zero percent commission on all Weblink orders. Customers can also score free delivery on all orders to local restaurants every Saturday in June and save 10% on all June pickup orders with a DashPass subscription.

Hit the blue button below to snag a DoorDash gift card from Amazon (and don’t forget to enter that promo code DASH at checkout to save $5 when you spend at least $50). And don’t forget to tip as generously as you can!
